The All Progressives Congress (APC) will be having its primary election ahead of the Anambra state gubernatorial poll will hold June 26, an official of the party announced.
Prof. Usijju Medaner Al-Mustapha, the Director of Organization, revealed also that its Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms would be sold for N22.5 million for aspirants.
However, he explained that female aspirants and persons living with disabilities have been granted a waiver and as such, would be allowed to pay 50 per cent of the fees.
According to the schedule of activities released by the party, the Notice of Election to its state chapter was released on Wednesday, April 14, while sales of forms commenced on April 14 and would end on June 8 which is also the last day for the submission of forms.
Also, the screening will commence on June 10 while the publication of claims and objections will be allowed starting from June 12.
It would be recalled that the APC has vowed to take over the state in the forthcoming poll which is expected to be highly competitive especially between the APC and the People’s Democratic (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) which presently governing the state.
Meanwhile, the APC aspirants are already contemplating a consensus candidate for the position but the screening committee is still mum on that.
