Member of the Nigerian Senate representing Ekiti South in the National Assembly, Biodun Olujimi has joined in the call for a candidate of the Southern part of Ekiti state to take over from Governor Kayode Fayemi in 2022.
According to the senator, the Ekiti South has been relegated for way too long and should be given an opportunity to represent the people in the next election.
However, she noted that the interest of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) should come first, adding that focus should be on issues that would unite and strengthen the party ahead of the 2022 governorship and 2023 general elections.
This was contained in the statement signed by her media aide, Chief Sanya Atofarati.
The statement partly read; “It is, however, imperative to know that members of the Senator Olujimi team share the same ideology that for the sake of equity and fair play, the South Senatorial District should be given the privilege to represent the state in the next governorship race, having been marginalized since the creation of Ekiti State since 1996, 25years ago.
“We urge all groups and interests, particularly from the South Senatorial District to remain calm as the priority of Senator Olujimi currently is to unite the party and encourage others to remain united prior to, during, and until after the court judgment on the ward congresses.”
