The University of Lagos has fixed January 25 as its resumption date for academic activities.
Recall that the Federal Government ordered all schools to close down in March 2020 due to spread of coronavirus pandemic.
According to the Head of the Media Unit in UNILAG, Mrs Olufadeke Akinleye, students would adopt virtual classes on January 25 in order to prevent physical gatherings.
A copy of the revised academic calendar for the first semester of the 2019/2020 academic session that was released on Wednesday, indicated that lectures would end on March 5.
According to the calendar, students would resume on April 12 while the University Senate would review the first semester result on April 28.
Additionally, the management has adjourned its 2019 convocation to February 23 – 25. The event, which was earlier slated for March 9 and 12, was suspended over a tussle between the management and the Pro-chancellor.
A statement by the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday stated that the management regretted the inconvenience the development might cause the fresh graduates and their families.
It would be recalled that the Vice-Chancellor of the varsity, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, earlier spoke at a pre-convocation press conference where he disclosed that a total of 13,489 students would be graduating during its upcoming 51st convocation.
