The Office of the First Lady of Nigeria has disclosed its plan to collaborate with Women and National Development (WAND), an NGO in launching a book titled “Aisha Buhari Being Different” on Thursday, April 8, 2021.
A statement released by the Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media, Mr Aliyu Abdullahi disclosed that Dr Hajo Sani wrote the book in honour of the First Lady, Hajia Aisha Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the statement, several dignitaries would grace the launching as the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Asiwaju Bola Tinubu would chair the event while Mrs Folorunso Alakija is expected as the guest speaker.
Prof. Fatai Aremu of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru would review the book before presenting it to the public.
As part of activities to launch the book, a summit on First Ladyship with the theme:” Emerging Trends in the Role of the First Lady in National Development” would also take place.
The statement added that Mrs Bisi Fayemi, wife of Ekiti Governor is expected as the keynote speaker and the wife of Edo Governor, Dr. Besty Obaseki, as session Chair.
Mrs Aisha Buhari earlier recommended the use of traditional medicine as a crucial part of Nigeria’s health care services.
She advised Nigerians to adopt traditional medicine for the treatment of illnesses by embracing the use of natural plants and herbs.
Represented by Hajiya Hajo Sani, the President’s wife promoted traditional medicine at the presentation of three books by Zainab Sharif, a Pharmacist and Director / Head of Department, Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicines (TCAM), Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH).
