11 Professional Footballers You Didn’t Know Are Brothers

1. The Ferdinand brothers: Rio and Anto Ferdinand are two brothers who played professional football. Rio featured famously for Manchester United while Anto was popular in the shirts of West Ham United.


2. The Milito brothers: Diego and Gabriel played professional football at the highest level. In fact, both players are Champions League winners featuring for Inter Milan and Barcelona respectively.


3. The Da Silva brothers: Rafael and Fabio are brothers who were signed by Manchester United from their parent club in Brazil. They are a twin and they were popular while playing for the Red Devils. They are still playing professional football up till today.


4. The Ayew brothers: Andre and Jordan are sons of Ghanaian football icon, Abedi Pele. They are both professional footballers in the English Premier League and are currently playing for the Ghanian national team.


5. Inzaghi brothers: Filippo and Simone Inzaghi are retired footballers and they both played in the Serie A with AC MIlan and Lazio respectively. they also both represented Italy on the international stage.



6. The Alcantara brothers: Thiago and Rafinha are currently playing professional football. They both rose through the ranks at Barcelona but have now left the club playing for other teams.



7. The Cannavaro brothers: Fabio and Paolo Cannavaro are also retired footballers who played in the Italian Serie A. Fabio, however, is the most popular of the two brothers as he captained Italy to FIFA World Cup glory in Germany in 2006. He played for Juventus and Real Madrid while his brother Paolo represented Lazio and parma.



8. The Hazard brothers: Eden and Thorgan Hazard are currently in the Belgian national team playing together. But on club level, they are both apart with Eden turning out weekly for Real Madrid while Thorgan is playing for Borussia Dortmund.



9. The Toure brothers: Kolo and Yaya represented Ivory Coast and played in the English Premier League with Liverpool and Manchester City.



10. The Boateng brothers: Kevin and Jerome are the only brothers on the list who represented different countries on the international stage. Kevin played for Ghana while Jerome is currently playing for Germany. however, both played in the German Bundesliga with the former showing in the clours of Schalke04 while the latter is a Bayern Munich defender.



11. The Neville brothers: Gary and Phil played together at Manchester United and played also for the English national team. However, they ended their careers in a different team with Phil moving on to Everton.
