On the 14th of March, 2021, Nigerian music superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid won his first-ever Grammy Award in the category “Best Music Video” for his role in “Brown Skin Girl” at the 63rd Grammy Award.

However, the last son of the late Nigerian Afrobeats legend, Seun Kuti has taken to social media, where he put out a video clearly throwing a shade at Wizkid, saying that he only banks of features.

According to Seun, only 4 Nigerian artists have ever been nominated for Grammys, and that people should ignore those who only bank on features – Wizkid.

It is not clear what exactly prompted the outburst on social media, as Nigerians seem to think that Seun is an attention-seeker, who always wants the spotlight on him.

Also, you will recall that the Award was won alongside Beyonce, the owner of the song “Brown Skin Girl” who also featured her daughter Ivy Blue and Saint Jhn. Apparently, Wizkid is not the only person who won an award due to their feature in the song.
