Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday following his clash with a former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
Personal Assistant to the President on Media, Buhari Sallau disclosed the news in a series of pictures shared on Twitter.
Sallau tweeted, “President @MBuhari receives Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma in State House on 23rd Feb 2021.”
While details about the meeting were not revealed, there are strong indications that the meeting is related to the arrest of Okorocha on Sunday night.
Recall that the Imo State Police Command confirmed the release of Okorocha following his arrest on Sunday.
According to the spokesperson for the state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, the former governor was “invited for questioning” over the unsealing the Spring Palm Hotel linked to his wife, Nkechi.
The commissioner explained that the hotel was allegedly built with taxpayers’ money instead of his wife’s funds.

Consequently, not less than fourteen aides of Okorocha were arraigned before her lordship, B. U Adikaibe of Magistrate Court 4, Owerri on Monday.
The clash prompted the Peoples Democratic Party to condemn both leaders.
Describing the recent clash as “disgusting,” the party blamed Okorocha and Uzodinma for turning the state into a war zone.
A statement by the PDP spokesperson in the state, Ogubundu Nwadike, said the recent clash has left residents in tension and fear of reprisal attacks.
